A Welcoming Start: The Fondell Family’s Story

When Elisabeth Fondell and her family moved to Marshall three years ago, they quickly discovered the strength of the Marshall Public School District. From the very beginning, the support and resources offered made a lasting impression.

Their son received physical therapy and developmental milestone tracking through the Early Childhood Special Education program, and Elisabeth recalls how valuable those early connections were. Soon after, they joined ECFE classes at Park Side Elementary—a weekly highlight for their family. “It has always been clear that we would be sending our kids to preschool at Marshall Public School as soon as they were old enough,” Elisabeth said.

This fall, that milestone arrived. Their son started 3s Preschool, where he was warmly greeted at the door by Vice Principal Tiffany Teske. “Watching him walk in with excitement and a big smile shows he’s entering a place he feels accepted and safe and welcome,” Elisabeth shared.

For Elisabeth, joining the Marshall Tiger community has been about more than academics. It’s about belonging to a network of smart, caring, kind educators and friends who provide opportunities in music, arts, theater, sports, and more. “We are thrilled to join the Marshall Tiger community,” she said.

Looking ahead, Elisabeth believes strongly in the importance of investing in Marshall’s schools. “Creating a place where all children of all backgrounds and abilities are welcome and supported is essential to creating a hopeful future for all of us,” she explained.

For the Fondell family, Marshall Schools have already become a trusted partner in their son’s growth—a place where learning, support, and community come together.
