For Delaney Dieken, being a Marshall Tiger runs in the family. Her mom once walked the same halls as a Marshall High School student—and now Delaney and her siblings are continuing that legacy.
“Marshall schools have made a huge impact on my family,” Delaney shared. “My older brother went to Marshall High School and is having a great experience in college. My younger sister is in her first year of high school!”
Even though the buildings have changed, the heart of the Marshall experience remains the same. “My mom went to high school in Marshall and now all of us kids are as well,” Delaney said. “While we are in a different building than our mom was, we are experiencing similar once-in-a-lifetime experiences.”
Those memories are what make being a Tiger so special. “I have many positive memories of all of the events our school puts on,” she added. “I especially enjoyed prom last year. The school did a great job with all of the details prom involves.”
When Delaney thinks about what makes Marshall schools so strong, her answer is simple: the teachers. “A teacher makes the world of a difference in a child’s education,” she said. “Their guidance can boost our knowledge.”
For Delaney, being a Tiger isn’t just about tradition—it’s about the people who make learning meaningful every day.
That’s why she’s proud to Say Yes—to supporting the teachers and opportunities that keep Marshall’s legacy strong for generations to come.
